A & J Rotary Egg Beater Mixer plus Hand Chopper and Peeler - ca 1923

These three items came from the depths of my mother's bottom kitchen drawer. That would be the drawer where everything went that was "too good to throw away" when she had purchased a nice new model. The egg beater has the "A&J" inside a diamond shape logo, along with the "Pat Oct 9, 1923" and Made in USA on the crank wheel. There are no markings on the chopper and only "stainless steel" on the peeler.

The chopper tool is my favorite item. The round wooden ball handle fits securely in your hand, keeping your fingers away from the curved criss-cross blades. You can "Rock and Roll" that chopper around quickly to chop nuts etc. in record time! So why did they stop making this cool utensil? It has a green painted handle.

The handles of the egg beater and the peeler are painted with a tough turquoise enamel paint, which is in great condition. You can tell that it has been painted over the previous paint on the peeler where there are indentations where the old paint had worn off. I actually remember when these were painted ---as I recall, my mother made new curtains from bright turquoise chintz for the kitchen, and my dad painted things like the kitchen chairs etc turquoise. I think these were part of the "etc."

These three items are in good used but operable condition, or would look great as decorations for a vintage design kitchen. Apparently some people are enjoying collecting these, as I have seen them in several antique malls, with much higher price tags. I am just looking to find these a "home" so they don't end up in my already overcrowded kitchen drawer. They could use a bit of polishing up, but there is no serious damage.

I try to describe the items on this site as accurately as possible; however since most of the items are either antique or at best vintage, due to their age, they are sold in "as is" condition.
