Royal Rudolstadt Rose Tray - Prussia with rare Star of David marking

This delicately decorated tray bears the marking of Royal Rudolstadt , makers of fine porcelain pieces during the 1800's and into the early 1900's. .

It measures 12-3/4 inches by 5-3/4 inches and is approximately 1-3/4 inches deep.

An interesting addition to any collection of fine European porcelain, this piece bears several interesting markings. The stamped green mark reads"Prussia Royal Rudolstadt" with the letter "B" in the center. Our research revealed that this "B" represents Beyer & Bock, Volstedt, Germany. Apparently pieces with this marking were produced during the period 1905 to 1932. The same hallmark is empressed into the piece, as well as several numbers and the letter A, all of which I assume represents the mold or shape of the tray. Most interesting however is a large embossed six-pointed Star of David prominently on the bottom of the piece. This sizeable raised mark is 3/4 " in size and is very unique, as I have not found it on other Prussia items. I will continue to research this marking.

The piece is in exceptionally nice condition. I do not seen signs of wear and the gilt edge is not worn away.

I try to describe the items on this site as accurately as possible; however, due to their age, they are sold in "as is" condition. Please contact us with any questions, or to request additional pictures, or contribute further information, by using the Contact tab on our Home page.
