Wedgwood Sterling by International 9-3/8" Berry Spoon - STERLING

This berry spoon, made by International Silver is in the "Wedgwood Sterling" pattern. That pattern first was manufactured in 1924, and is still active today; however, many of the lovely serving pieces are difficult to locate. This berry spoon measures 9-3/8" in length, and has a beautifully shaped bowl with raised scrolled design. It was not until I began photographing this item that I noticed that it does have the lightly Gold Washed bowl that is traditional on berry spoons, to prevent the fruit juices from tarnishing the silver. A unique feature of this pattern, is that the reverse side of the handle has an ornate oval area for a monogram, rather than having the monogram on the top. Our piece has a lightly engraved, "B" in that oval on the back. It could easily be removed, if your initial is not "B". The spoon is in nice used condition is weighs a sturdy 4 ounces. I am just now learning my silver terminology, and am finding silver photography to be quite a challenge. I will add more information soon.
