Universal Model E7712 Toaster by Lander, Frary & Clark Co.(sorry SOLD)
Universal Toasters were manufactured by the Lander, Frary & Clark Company of New Britain Connecticut. The company operated from 1822 thru 1965, when they sold their assets to General Electric.

This model is chrome, with light colored Bakelite handles, knobs, and feet. This appliance was designed to not only function as a toaster, but to grace the table with style. The shaping, and the pressed in detailing, together with the artistic cutwork in the doors and top piece really depict the more leisurely "tea and toast" lifestyle of yesterday.

The toaster is in exceptionally nice condition; the elements are intact and heat up. There is only a small amount of interior discoloration of the metal on the underside of the top piece and inside the upper edge of the doors. That would be from the "rare" occasion when the toast was slightly "overdone". The cord is a huge 7 feet long, and in like new condition. It is cloth covered and has an on/off switch. I doubt that this is the original cord. It has the GE logo, and I know GE sold this type of replacement power cord for many years, since appliances tended to outlive their cords. (If only that were the case today!)

This functioning piece of Yesterday is ready to toast bread, bagels, waffles, or pastries, while it adds a decorative touch to your kitchen.

I try to describe the items on this site as accurately as possible; however, due to their age, they are sold in "as is" condition. Please contact us with any questions, or to request additional pictures, or to contribute further information, by using the Contact tab on our Home page.
