Marklin mini-club Z-Gauge 8900 Freight Train Set
This is a wonderful Vintage train set, in like-new condition in its original boxes. Billed as "The Smallest Electric Railroad in the World", these trains are Z-gauge, 1:220 , measuring 6.5mm (or 17/64"). Take a look at the pictures below and see the locomotive photographed next to a U.S. dime.

These trains were manufactured by Marklin in West Germany, in the early 1970's. We understand that this particular model only appeared in the Marklin catalog for three years, from 1972 thru 1974. It is the 8900 Freight Train Set. We also have a Marklin mini-club transformer Power Pack (the model for American a.c. current), and some extra long track sections. Together, these comprise everything necessary to set up and run this tiny layout.

What is included:

--Model 8900 Freight Train Set- including 8800 Tank Locomotive, 8601 Beer Car, 8606 Box Car, 8610, Low Sided Gondola, 8612 Tank Car. Also (5) 4-3/8" straight track sections, (8) 45degree curved track sections, (1) feeder track section, and (1) plastic ramp to facilitate placing the locomotive and cars on the track. This is the full set as sold in its original box.

Plus--

Model 6727 Marklin mini-club transformer Power Pack. =115 volt for USA use. (Converts the a.c. household current to the d.c. current needed to run the train and has normal USA two prong plug).

Plus -

(5) Sections (1/2 box) of #8505 straight extra long track in original box.
(1) 73/E Catalog, listing this train, along with the additional cars, track and accessories available at that time.
(1) Layout setup folder, printed in 8 languages.
These items are being sold together, as a total layout set, to enable a proper setup for someone beginning a Marklin collection. I have not set this up or attempted to run this train; however,. I can say that the trains currently on this site came from a single collection in my family, and the owner would have likely checked them out.

I try to describe the items on this site as accurately as possible. Because items we carry are vintage to antique, they are sold in "as is" condition.
